Welford park

The privately owned  park opens its gates at this time of the year to show off its snowdrops. I have been meaning to go for several years but never made it. When I saw that the U3A were running a trip I seized the opportunity.
It was a grand day out made all the more memorable by the fact that when we went for the ubiquitous tea and cake it was served by one of this years Bake Off contestants (Karen). Bake off is filmed there in the summer and she was just visiting today to see the snowdrops and they roped her into service in the café.
