Un-boughed

These hawthorns were obviously originally laid as a hedge but have now been permitted to grow as nature originally intended. Looking the other way down the line of trees it is apparent that the prevailing wind has discouraged growth on one side, but they're still unbeaten by the elements.

They enclosed a field containing some pretty fat ewes; given that I've already seen lambs further down in the valley I suspect more are in the offing. I do wonder if pregnant animals know what's about to happen, or is it a tremendous surprise?!

Friends S and M came over for coffee which meant I could procrastinate packing a while longer. But now everything is sorted and we are off in the small hours. Poppydog packed herself as usual, with a bit of assistance! (Extra)
