Masterchef

Son in law cooked a wonderful Spanish meal for us. He takes so much trouble to make everything just right, having gone to a wine merchant in Jesmond to get good wine, then called at Waitrose in Ponteland on the way to get all he needed. Mr C has never been in Waitrose (too expensive) or for that matter, Asda (on political grounds because it is Walmart which don’t allow trades unions). We had a lovely evening.

In fact a good day all round. I drove to Thrunton Woods for a 9.30am walk with Rose, as she thought the forest tracks would be fine for my ankle. We both prefer open views from high up, but at least we were out of the wind in woods. We did 5 miles which was the furthest I’ve been since the accident, so I’m encouraged.

#3 daughter and family arrived in time for Mr C to take the children up to the woods. Ella got an activity tracker for her birthday. (Her mum said she wouldn’t be getting one as they were too expensive so she said she’d use the money her great-uncle gave her for Christmas, then mum and dad could put in £10 each. So now she runs round the room before bedtime if she’s not done her steps for the day. Usually she does more than 10,000 though only 8,000 is the target for her age.). She was way over the target what with playing in the park in the morning then the 2 hours in the woods.
