Books

I received my love of reading from my mum. Paddy, 93 in April has happily lived with me for the last twelve years. Up until about three months ago she was reading about six library books a month. She has always been a member of her local library. She walked there during the Blitz from her home in South East London after her return from evacuation due to homesickness.
Paddy has become increasingly frail and her last book from the library stayed by her bed unread for weeks. She spends more time sleeping now. The cafe where I volunteer is just beside the library, so I borrowed three books this week.
Ewart Library book groupies are at my house for tea and the Usual Place scones next week.
