Alyeska Ski Resort, Girdwood, Alaska

We made the 30 to 40 minute drive down to Alyeska for a late afternoon ski today. With clear skies, little wind, and temperatures in the teens (F), we jumped on the opportunity! I had not been downhill skiing for a few years, but Alyeska has a short-duration lift ticket, 4 to 5:30 pm, for those of us who don't want to over do it... We stopped at the Girdwood brewery afterwards for a beer and a tasty burger. Food has to be purchased from the "food truck" outside (because the breweries are not allowed to sell food (?!?)).) Many skiers were relaxing outside on the "patio" around a fire (see extra photo), but heh indoors without a fire works just fine.
