Disabilities are no barrier to fun

At the 30th birthday party of  Plus Forth Valley this morning. Plus is an organisation which has been a big part of our lives ever since Playscheme '88 which provided a couple of weeks of play opportunities for 12  disabled children and their non-disabled siblings in the summer holiday of 1988. From this voluntary activity a robust third sector organisation has developed. Plus now works across the Forth Valley area with children, young people and young adults who have a range of physical, sensory and learning disabilities. It's provided our family with many, many hours, days and weeks of fun. Lasting friendships have been created.  It's given us endless volunteering opportunities and paid employment. It's a really wonderful organisation and it was great to see it flourishing thirty years on. I felt quite emotional.

The main blip is a collage of photographs from the past 30 years with the logo. The extras are photographs of Lyn and Cameraman at the 10th birthday party and today's cake.

As I walked home from the celebration the temperature was 15 degrees. Hard to fathom this weather.
