Homeward Bound

After a long lie (absolute bliss!) messed up our plans to visit the local flea market we thought we'd go for Plan B - a trip to the Pergamon Museum. We got there to find more queues so abandoned that idea in favour of Plan C - head for the airport. With horizontal snow and sub zero temperatures it was just as well we did as the train we were getting was late (hence the station coffee-stop shot) then had problems with ice on the doors so we were stuck on the train for a while. When we finally got to the airport it was chaos with flights being cancelled left, right and centre. The tiny airport was packed with disgruntled passengers but we were lucky enough to find our flight running on schedule. Or so we thought. Once on the plane we were stuck on the tarmac for 2 hours while they closed the runway for clearing and de-iced the plane. Just what you need when you're desperate to get back to see the kids.

We got home later than planned but the kids were still up to say hello. Miss A was hugely excited to see us, her first words being 'Did you bring me a present?', then gave us both a big hug and kiss. Little D had just been sick prior to our arrival so was looking poorly and in need of lots of cuddles. Grandma and Grandad were complete stars looking after them, they had a great time and were kept entertained all weekend. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
