The village propeller

Having asked a number of locals about this village landmark and found out nothing of its history, I'm so glad the community council has now fixed a plaque next to it.

It was found in Wedell Sound, Scapa Flow in 1987 by a local diver. Its origin is unknown but the date of manufacture is 22 December 1957.
