Lochnagar

As the weather was looking good we had decided to stay up and have a day’s hillwalking. We didn’t want too big a day so decided to go up Conachcraig, the Corbett near Lochnagar. It was mild in Glen Muick where we parked and warmer up the hill (15 celsius at 700 metres); I didn’t have my shorts but Ron Hills are very stretchy so made impromptu ones, a first for February. The blip shows the view at the top looking to Lochnagar; the lack of snow is all wrong; there’s usually more in mid-May. Winter isn’t finished but it’s not looking good and such a contrast with the end of January.
