I went to Richmond hoping that I'd find the three vanilla ducks... When I arrived, they were nowhere to be seen (or heard), but one of them appeared while I was photographing the other birds on the river. I thought that I had my blip in the bag, but then two swans appeared and started foraging in the shallows, diving their heads and stirring up clouds of silt as they poked around on the bed. I was mesmerised by the rippled light playing over their submerged necks and heads...
