The Semi-automatic Troostmachine*,

Today's cycle ride was to find out all about the disappeared cycle road which used to lead to the viaduct that would have helped me from Maastricht centre to Meerssen. After a nice detour, we arrived at the beginning of a brand new cycle road. After further investigation, we saw that a bike path will be built to the street where I was lost last time. But it is only to be seen when standing on the viaduct.
Well, now I know all about it.

In the city park, we stopped at the former bear pit, to blip the Semi-automatic Troostmachine*, a work of art by Michel Huisman.
The story of bear Jo is a sad story. Undoubtedly he had an intensely sad and animal-unfriendly life. The city only did transfer Jo in 1993 after a lot of protests to a zoo where he died three years later.
