Plum Blossom

Taken this morning, walked up the Land in pj's and wellies to get the early light, though realizing from the photo that the sun was already quite high. It's the blossom on the plum branches that were grafted into two of our almond trees. Last year, didn't even realize they weren't almonds, though seems crazy now, as all the almond blossom has fallen off, and just these branches flowering. It was only when we came back from England and the former owner of the Land asked about the plums, that we found them.

Having trouble with the batteries in our solar system, which means no water pumped, so bucket baths tonight... and internet might go off at any point... Mike's spent a lot of time on it, quite frustrating.

Decided on a shopping trip to Évora. Happy with a new shop we've found at last; we bought two grapefruit trees and four different eating grapevines that will hopefully give shade over the frame Mike's built at the front of the house.

Gratefuls:
- trees, planted by others and by us, giving us shade and fruit and beauty
- the thought of plucking grapes from a vine over our porch, like we did once in a restaurant in Spain
- an Instagram of our two-year-old granddaughter playing a guitar and dancing like a rock star, hilarious
