Gull and Knightly Helm

This chimney cowl was moving quite a bit in the wind, but the herring gull was well-used to this and ignored it. A short walk around Stromness and along the coast on what felt like an early summer's day. I went into the Stromness bookshop and bought a book by Sartre, then into the charity shop across the road and bought a Steinbeck novel, then into the library and borrowed a Spark novel.  So a day of sun, sea, seagulls and writers beginning with 'S'.
