Opposing pedestrians

A glimpse of shoppers passing the end of one of the town's many medieval passageways.These are known a 'Shuts' locally with old  descriptive names such as Grope Lane and Gullet passage. The former accurately describing the night time use of the alley and the latter that a stream ran down it washing the towns waste into the river.
