Flower Friday - Epiphyllum Grand Opening

I’ve been watching a crop of new buds on the night blooming cactus all week as each night they seemed to be close to puffing up and popping.

Tonight has been the night, every single one of about 15 flowers has puffed up and popped and I managed to catch these two together as they sprang open to greet the night and spread their amazing scent around.

The ants came from nowhere to drink the nectar! Wonderful to see this again and i think possibly this will be the last of them for the year. It’s definitely been the best year yet for flowers! In extras are these two blooms just a few moments before this shot.

With all the faffing around and running up and down and downloading and retaking shots and more running up and down i’m worn out and its late and now i have to go off to bed ahhhh!! Nighty night dear blippers, catch up over the long weekend, how luxurious!! :o)xxx
