The Christian Dior Exhibition
Last night we loved the modern staging of Cosi Fan Tutte - as is usual with the Royal Opera House it was an excellent production with innovative sets and incredible singing. We found we were sitting two rows in front of Jenna Coleman (who plays the lead role in Victoria the TV show) and when we went out at interval I was standing next to her (in my heels) and realised how tiny she is - at 5ft 2 she is like a little doll!
Today I stood in for another committee member who was running an arts society event - a group booking of 31 people to see the Christian Dior Exhibition at the V&A, preceded by a lecture on the exhibition. The lecture was excellent and very informative, and as for the exhibition - no wonder it is fully sold out, it is well laid out and the garments are outstanding. Some of the ball gowns were so exquisite with fine needlework, I would never be able to wear anything like that but would rather exhibit it in a glass case! Well worth seeing if you can somehow get hold of a ticket.
After the exhibition my friend and I went for a bite to eat at a cafe known for it's amazing cakes - we resisted the cakes and had a salad instead *polishes my halo* I had to be good as we are going out to supper with friends tonight so could not eat too much today!
