Snowdrops

Many years after moving to my little house, with a garden 60 yards away down by a natural sump, snowdrops appeared.  The garden had been a vegetable plot, thoroughly rotivated and double-dug by my father, but left to nature after he died.  The first surprise was a burst of daffodils, which prompted me to start tidying away some of the enthusiastic nettles and thistles. I wondered where the bulbs had come from as there are no obvious sources. Next, a tiny snowdrop peeped out from the long grass, each year accompanied by a few more flowering before the daffodils.

As bulbs seem to be very happy in my haphazard garden, perhaps I should throw in some tulips just for fun!
