Paphos zoo

A fun day out with the children today!
But first we had to break out of the house! The lock mechanism of the glass doors came off in Rob’s hand, and the other door was padlocked on the outside!
Anyway we escaped and set off for Paphos.
George loves animals and he had been promised a trip to the zoo when Granny and Grandad came to visit and finally it’s that day!
We brought George an Oryx figure as a present and there were some at the zoo, he was delighted. And we went to feed the giraffe! He photobombed is something rotten and had the most amazing long blue tongue!
There’s a beautiful white lion with a lovely mane, he was roaring loudly but the zoo is too small for big cats and we felt sorry for them and the tigers.
Overall George had a great time but was a little overwhelmed by it all.
Rob and I went on to Avakas Gorge, but there was a lot of winter damage to negotiate. We found a few more orchids though and had a great view of two Hoopoes.
Chris the host arrived later to mend our door and tell us about the fascinating history of the area, he does like to talk!
