On a night of close results, the best for the home crowd was to see West Linton's finest, Chris O'Hare take silver in the 3000m by three thousandths of a second despite a dramatic swallow-dive for the line by Henrik Ingebritsen, but well behind his imperious 18-year-old brother Jakob.

Earlier we'd seen the high jump won by the wonderful showman that is Gianmarco Tamberi, and Carsten Warholm win the 800m by leading from gun to tape [See extras]
