My friend Richard knows how to celebrate a birthday - he's made a long weekend of it, and tonight we had dinner at The Dining Club in Deal. I've been dying to go there for ages, and I wasn't disappointed.

They were putting on a Welsh menu tonight, which was absolutely delicious. The beef just fell apart, and the other five courses were just as good.

The ladies loo sealed the deal, with this very lovely table with lots of old school perfumes and a beautiful vanity set - fabulous!
