………………......……Dry

The drought continues and the countryside has yellow everywhere.

This photo was taken at Wakefield, NZ, the town that was evacuated in the recent Pigeon Valley Fire.

The fire started on the afternoon of 5th February in Pigeon Valley and burnt towards Redwood Valley in the north.  The following day a state of emergency was declared and this continued for three weeks until it was lifted on the 27th February. Within hours another fire started, this time on the Moutere Hill. It spread south, also towards Redwood Valley.  The fires are contained, but work continues on extinguishing the underground fire and hot spots.

Top - Looking towards burnt remains in Pigeon Valley. It was in this valley where the fire started.
Bottom - The road over the Moutere Hill where the second fire in the area stared

Thank you for the positive reaction to my previous blip. It was something different for Flower Friday and I appreciate the comments, stars and hearts.
