London.

Today we were up and off early to catch the London train for a day out in the big smoke. We had a good journey up and once there we headed for our main activity of the day , a visit to The Silver Vaults in Chancery Lane.

After a trip on the Underground we arrived in Holborn the nearest station to our destination. We decided we might as well have an early lunch before heading to the Silver Vaults.

We settled on a Pub called the Cittie of Yorke which proved to be a very good choice. The interior looked as if we had walked into a Harry Potter set as you can see form the picture above! After a very nice pie and ale lunch we set off for the Silver vaults where we hoped to find a present for Mr Tbays brothers Silver Wedding Anniversary.

I have a real love of silver apart from when I have to clean it! However the thought of all this silver made me positively salivated with excitement! The shops are all housed in a subterranean market in what were once the Chancery Lane Safe Deposit . Each shop is housed in one of these old Safe Deposit rooms complete with VERY thick steel doors!

After much browsing and ooing and ahhhing we found just the thing for the gift in the shape of a salmon. Let’s hope they like it.

All too soon it was time to head back for the train but not before cheeky glass of fizz at Selfridges on the way. Home by 10am knackered but happy!
