Diary of an Edinburgher

Goodbye mermaid!

Becky and Daniel took Archie out to the park this morning. He's been slightly less sprightly the last couple of days. Not playing with his toys; not jumping up on to the bed; unwilling to 'stand' even for a bit of carrot. That's Archie - not Daniel, just to be clear. However, they reported that he was running around and playing with dogs and fetching the frisbee in his usual carefree manner.

Having said that, he didn’t bother at all when toast was being munched on at lunchtime. Unheard of.

JR went to fitness class (she just can’t NOT go now). A few jobs were done, including shifting stuff around in the spare room. My fitness bike, I’m afraid, has been consigned to the cupboard. We need the space. Also, I haven’t been using it for a while. The bathroom folk are delivering their 'stuff' on Tuesday. Not sure how much 'stuff' that involves, but we have to make room for it. Not that they're starting next week - that's been delayed. Thank goodness, really, as there's an awful lot still to do in the kitchen!

This item is heading for the rubbish bin. She's a mermaid, and we got her in Mexico about eleven years ago when we were on holiday there. We had a house swap, and we just loved the place, and even had vague thoughts of retiring there...

These mermaids were everywhere. Made of paper maché, so they weigh nothing. She's been hanging in our bathroom all these years. It's only now that I look closely at her that I realise she's actually quite scary... Archie obviously thinks so too. Sorry, Arch - she's gone now.
