Getting the sparkle back

Goldeneye

Seen on today's bird walk at Musselburgh which was again very successful despite a fair wind. I chose this photo mainly because you can actually see the golden eye of this handsome duck. He was courting his lady friend by tossing his head back and then stretching his neck up with his bill pointing upwards. It takes all sorts... We saw about 30 species of birds altogether at the mouth of the river, along the sea wall and from the hide on the lagoons. I'm not going to list them all here!

Afterwards T and I went to Waterston House on the edge of Aberlady to see the latest exhibition of prints by four artists, several of which we coveted.
