Lake Wanaka

This morning we left Franz Josef in low clouds and rain for the long drive down to Queenstown. When we crossed the Southern Alps the weather was much more agreeable.
This shot was taken from the roadside alongside Lake Wanaka. Like many of the lakes here, it's huge, and much of it's shores are deserted.
It's good to have the blue skies back, although tomorrow's forecast is terrible! It was also beginning to blow a bit of a gale in Queenstown which is ominous.
