On the Shadow Side

Sought cover in the woods from the wind and was attracted by the fallen limb from this tree, piled with snow. Still only a high of 15F today. I liked the sun streaking underneath showing the form of the snow bank on the left.

Even on the shadow side of the tree, bounced light was quite strong highlighting the texture of the bark and rim lighting gave form to the piles of snow on the horizontal branch.

I also liked the way the two upright limbs twisted to form a Y-shape, providing a look through and giving some dimension.

I don't think I pay enough attention to triangles, but I can see quite a few now I look at this image.
