Rhododendron

This one didn't really work. I was in so much of a hurry to avoid the rain (my camera isn't weather sealed) that I failed to notice that the focus point was not on the bud. This afternoon's weather has been horrible, but after last year's drought I'm disinclined to complain too much about rain.

This rhododendron is one of the last spring flowers to come out in our garden. It doesn't usually flower until late May or early June, so it'll be interesting to see whether the warm, sunny February has made a difference to it this year. For now, the buds will stay tightly furled, whatever the weather. There are quite a lot of them, too many almost, as when it does flower it's quite dramatic and looks somewhat overburdened with colour. The bees don't care though, they adore it.
