The final frontier

I've had a busy one but it's been productive so far. Mr H came back just now and I asked him to go up into the loft before he goes out for the night with his friend (leaving me to study yipee!) I wanted him to investigate the strange loud noises from a couple of nights ago. I had decided it was a squirrel as it sounded hyperactive and larger than a rat but there is no evidence of that and it wasn't back last night. There was a huge blob of fresh poo though...euurgghh... so thanks to internet poo identification systems.. mice, owls and squirrels are out of the picture...so it is either an odd rat or maybe a cat...whatever it was it didn't want to make a home for itself thank goodness. I don't mind living with mice at all but when you can hear something moving objects and pulling cables around it's a bit more worrying....the space blanket is a DIY job btw from a couple of years ago there is actually about 20% of the job left to do...i.e ripping up the old stuff and replacing it with the new before it will be 100% effective. My job was bagging up rubble (lots of it not sure from where), hoovering up rat poison from the 1960s (lots of that too!) and then hoovering loose plaster and splinters between all the ceiling joists (what do you call them?)..all whilst wearing an annoying suit and a huge mask with enourmous filters attached to the mouth area....one of the worst DIY jobs ever. Ended up taking several rubble sacks to the dump after that..euurrgghhhh.

On the upside all the Xmas decorations are now in small boxes around the house. Food time now- then back to study!
