Murillo Gardens

We started the day by taking a walk through the Murillo Gardens and then proceed to the Maria Luisa Gardens and finally paused at the San Sebastian Gardens. Lots of walking again. We stopped for a coffee at a cafe in the Maria Luisa Gardens.

While we were waiting to cross at a roundabout a horse drawn carriage (of which there are many here) bumped the back of a taxi. The horse was unhurt, but the taxi was a little scraped. The passengers on the carriage got a longer ride than they expected while insurance details were exchanged.

As we returned to the centre we came across a parade celebrating Andalusia Day. Until this point we had not realised today was a public holiday in Seville and the whole of Andalusia. We understood then why there were so many people around.

A nice and light lunch at a very pleasant bar in a plaza we came across for the first time, but turned out to be near our hotel.

The main photograph shows the monument to Christopher Columbus in the Gardens of Murillo. The extra shows the tiles outside the Royal Tobacco Factory. The building now houses part of the University of Seville.
