All that..............

So we're worried about plastic wrapping, here is a bold solution - cardboard boxes. Each of these boxes contains a number of apples and the whole kit & caboodle is for sale at the princely sum of £2. Now call me old fashioned, a Luddite even, but what on earth is wrong with paper bags? Somebody somewhere is manufacturing these boxes with their lovely print job and cutouts. There are machines involved and machines need power. I'd argue that the boxes don't even offer much protection to the contents - they are not wrapped in anything so they are free to bash around when the boxes are moved. I bet that even if we stood on tippy-toes we'd still not be able to see anywhere that this makes environmental sense. And don't forget that someone is paying for this packaging. Of course you might think that the price is being absorbed by the retailer but if you do think that then I've got a bridge to sell you - we're paying for it either through this product or somewhere else in the store.

Bonkers bananas!
