Interesting artefacts

While we were waiting for our takeaway from the Farningham Tandoori (Our name for the Palace of India restaurant ) we went for a drink in the pub next door.

This is a tradition of ours - order the curry and have a pint of a guest ale (Ian, not me as I am the driver) - in the Chequers while the meal is being cooked.

The Chequers is quite a bizarre place. It has a range iof very interesting objects and artefacts as well as murals of the local area.

What interested me on this wet rainy evening was the absence of women in this pub. It is international Women's Day but there were only groups of men and I was the only female in the bar. Perhaps women would prefer to be elsewhere with other like minded women.

We collected our takeaway and drove home through the dark lanes wishing it were summer.
