The dropped stitch

An Orkney bus trip

Took the bus into town this morning.

The high tide and wind direction meant Scapa Flow gave the bus a bit of a wash as we crossed Barrier 2.

We stopped at the Italian Chapel to pick up a tourist. With his hood up and back to the road, he was watching the sea and oblivious to the fact that the bus had stopped for him. Full marks to the driver, who didn't toot the horn or shout. Perhaps feeling the eyes of the driver and us 2 passengers on his back, he eventually turned round. Looking somewhat startled, he hopped on board.
