The dropped stitch

Bank Lane, Lerwick

I have been aware this visit of how many narrow alleyways there are in the town. There's always a new Lane or Closs to discover. Spotting them and trying to remember their names keeps the spirits up when the feet are cold and meters are hard to find.

Bank Lane, formerly Swallow Lane is a steep one, so the rail up the centre is very welcome, especially if it's wet or icy underfoot.
