Manure all around

Wow, what blustery winds this morning and most of the day! I was at the allotment for 9.00am to help unload a trailer load of manure. Quick journey there on the bike, hard work on the way back into the teeth of the gale which blew nearly me to a stand on several occasions.

Fortunately, the brassica cage was just holding fast, but it’s on its last legs. Hopefully, it should last a couple of weeks longer protecting the purple sprouting.

We walked around the Woodland Trust and Golf Course later in the morning. Evidence of the destructive power of the gusts were clear; fences broken, branches down and twigs scattered. One of the panels in our greenhouse was shattered too.
