Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

The Cape Dorset

This is the most interesting boat on the condo dock.     This dock across the street is a separate condo association , like our townhouses, and there is a 3rd, the floating homes.   some of these other two associations park in our townhouse garage so there are loose connections.  Several townhouse owners (like us) have a slip on the dock…in fact that is the whole reason we bought it in 1987, to put our sailboat there….I wasn’t wild about the townhouse but now am glad about it .. Presently we are boatless here and renting the slip out)    Next month the dock is going to be replaced, by a floating dock and less numerous and more environmentally friendly pilings and surfaces.  So today we walked out there on a beautiful sunny day after our morning walk, to take some photos of the “old dock”.   Had a nice chat with this family who live on the Cape Dorset but are about to sell her to someone who wants to fix her up more and paint her white.   Altho this family has made the inside very lovely, and full of character they are moving to a house, right next to the elementary school. (where they have a "better view"!)   We thought they all needed to have a photo.    The Cape Dorset was originally a drum seiner fishing boat from perhaps the 50s.  Not sure when it came to Seattle or if it originally came from Cape Dorset in the far North, Inuit region of Canada.

Extra, the view from the wheelhouse,  and the” hot tub boat” that happened to go by ( they think it’s summer I guess.  I had a winter jacket on. )
