Kangaroo Paw ( plant )

Extra scenes from Coles Bay ( Freycinet ) and Bicheno in eastern Tasmania.

Roads here are narrow and winding. At one point the main highway had a speed limit of 15kph

There are only two high schools on the east coast, the kids have to travel to boarding school in Hobart.

All the locals welcome tourists which must give the economy a welcome boost. I haven’t met anyone unfriendly.

The kids squeal ( screech) louder than on the mainland ( or so it seems. There are two playing in the kids area and honest, I’ve never heard any as noisy).

We had a pretty quiet day. First we drove down to Freycinet where there is the famous “Wine Glass Bay” but due to a long weekend it was very crowded. As we had been twice before we turned back and explored Bicheno, a town of 900 with lovely views, rocks, beaches and seafood. It was nice to see something different.

Cool change expected tomorrow with a dusting of snow in the mountains...
