Fort Hill Park

While leaving the public library this morning where it was freezing yet between snow flurries I snapped this sign in front. This is called Fort Hill Park in Oxford.
It seems the old library is placed right on the Indian's former fort. It guarded the Chenango River at the bottom of the hill. I live about a block from the river further along.
The Widow's Walk you can see sitting like a crown above the sign is a building further down the street. The funeral home owns that old New England style house.

I had intended taking a blip inside the warm library but forgot. I just looked forward to getting inside my warm car and driving back home.
This is NOT a good arthritis day!
