On the way to K Road

Riding to work this morning, I had not long started out when I could see the rising sun being reflected by high rise buildings just off Karangahape Road. The buildings are a mix of apartment blocks, hotel, and offices. Some are quite recently built, others are a bit older. The street frontage along K Road is maintained as one of the best examples of Victorian and Edwardian architecture in Auckland.

The cream coloured terrace has been refurbished over the last year or so, and I would guess that that included strengthening work to meet new earthquake requirements. (K Road bends just before the terrace, and continues to curve that way so that by the time I reach the hospital over Grafton Bridge, the sun has gone from being on the right to the left.

A busy day clinically and with meetings. Glad to be home.
