Modern busking

This guy was on Waterloo station busking and had a handheld payment machine in his violin case for those that wanted to pay by card or phone.
Then on my train a guy was begging, specially asking for 80p, and passengers were telling him they didn’t have any change and some saying they didn’t carry cash.
How long before we have a chip implanted in our wrist instead of having to carry a bank card?
