Ramblings and Mutterings

World Kidney Day

Today is World Kidney Day and as one of the lucky few to benefit from a Kidney Transplant, it is my duty to continue to raise awareness and do all I can to help other people.

In the UK approximately 4,800 people need a kidney transplant every year, but only 3,300 of them are lucky enough to have another chance of life.  So if you can sign up to the Organ Donation Register, or if you're in Wales or Scotland opt in to the schemes in those countries, you'll be making a difference and saving a life.

You don't realise how key your kidneys are to you until they get struck down.  Do yourself a favour get yourself checked over, a simple blood test by your GP can help identify any problems.
