Destruction!

My drive has needed replacing for some time - weeding plants growing through the concrete is a hard job!  It couldn't be done until the work in the back garden was complete or the new surface could have been damaged by the skip and then my op that delayed it.

Today was D day (or Drive day). Two men turned up and dug up the concrete with a small digger. By lunchtime they'd finished it and a grab truck arrived. The truck delivered hardcore and removed the rubbish while the small digger spread it and moved bits of concrete and one man worked with a shovel and broom.  It was an incredibly slick operation.

Then hardcore was spread around and pushed down with a whacker plate and drainage inserted.  They worked so hard and fast that they'd finished at 2.30 pm.  They'll be back on Wednesday to lay the new concrete.

When they'd gone I had a walk to the castle. At the farm opposite was the special care lamb unit on the lawn. Mum has just had twins (extra photo). The lambs arrived 5 days later than last year. Blip is so useful for recording these important events!
