MORECAMBE MIDLAND HOTEL

Hi all,

Busy day today as well as bad weather.  Went to Morecambe today as friends from Northampton were staying there.

The journey over was a bit scary as the weather was atrocious, the wind was making it a little difficult to keep control of the car, however I kept my speed down and mostly stayed in the left hand lane whilst on the M6.  There were a lot of people travelling far too fast for the conditions, but they were better off past me, but there were still a few like me who took it steadier.

Visited Mum first for coffee and a chat.  Then onto the Midland Hotel.

Friends looked so elegant as they dressed for a posh hotel.  We then went and had lunch, which was absolutely delicious.

After a good long natter they showed me their room.  WOW - very modern but they were staying in the Penthouse (pushing the boat out but it formed part of medical and birthday celebrations.

A very large room with one wall of glass (a huge patio door leading onto a balcony) which overlooks Morecambe Bay.  They managed to have a view when they arrived on Thursday and a bit yesterday, but today was dreadful, still impressive though.  The only minus point to the room was the wardrobe was just hangers in an alcove and wasn't long enough to hang dresses.  Still a lovely room to stay in though.

The blip is of the ceiling going up through their art deco stairway.  I must go back with my wide angle my other photos looking up and down the stairs with the kit lens doesn't quite get it all in.

Have a great day, stay safe and dry everyone.
