Open Water

At last signs of the lake melting along the shoreline. No doubt it will refreeze overnight. These rocks have not been visible whilst buried in snow and ice. Normally the water level is a foot lower.

I managed to get this shot as the sun went behind a cloud to avoid the bright spot on the white side of the rock. It's amazing how much more detail and colour comes out without direct sun.

Although it doesn't reflect the weather today, I like the mood of this shot. Spring is on its way, but not just yet.
