Life through the lens...

Harlow Carr

I'm sure many of you will recognise RHS  Harlow Carr, Harrogate.
Our first visit this year, and we were delighted to see so much colour in the gardens.
Decided last week to visit today, as the weather forecast was for sunshine.
Wrong, as usual!
We did have some sun, but also a few heavy downpours. A good job there are many places where you can shelter.

As usual decided on a collage, showing the Winter Walk, delightful Alpine House, Woodland Walk and the tall magnolia, which was past it's best. Some new willow sculptures of dinosaurs, and one of the many early rhododendrons.

Today was Mr C's choice, as his first day out since having his new glasses.   Fortunately would have been my choice too.

As usual came home with a few things for the garden.
A dahlia named " Pooh" to replace the one I lost a couple of years ago.
Some Nerine bulbs, which will provide some late autumn colour, and a
Erysimum, Variegatum, peach, plant, which will  come into flower when the spring bulbs have finished.

Despite the weather it was a lovely day out.
Looking forward to many more visits this year.
Just hope that next time there aren't as many road works and diversions. A real nightmare of a journey home.
