FAREWELL FROM VENICE

Sitting in the train, leaving Venice, crossing the Laguna on the bridge, I was surprised to see the snowed Alps in the distance.
We still had the whole morning before our train departed.
We sat at the Zattere, enjoying the sunny weather, and walked to the Accademia Bridge, which we climbed and walked to the station at the other side of the Canal Grande.
We took the normal route, with many shops at both sides of the street, lots of people, tourists of course, as we are too.
Piet Hein peeped in some churches on our walk, and we happily sat for almost an hour at the Canareggio quay drinking our espresso, enjoying the good weather, and saw all the vaporetti on their way to the Fondamente Nuova and back.
Then our lest steps to the station, sittin g on a bench outside eating our sandwiches. Then we bordered the train and via Padua, Vicenza, Verona we went to the North, till we reached Innsbruck in the dark, but before we reached this town we saw the mountains around us, fresh snow on the Brenner Pass, and on the tops of the mountains.
Our very first holiday together Piet Hein and I had walked in the Dolomiti mountains, and of course our thoughts went back when we had stopped at Valdena Ponte and walked to the Seisser Alm and beyond.
Now we stay the night in Munich and have a morning for a walk here.

I will give my first silly hearts to rmeinz, soletrader, carolinav, deanna_pearce, and HareBrain.
