Shakespeare

After 'work' I met Ann and we went for a coffee at Nero then a bit of tea at Pret.

From there we made our way to the RSC theatre where we had been given tickets for tonight's Taming of the Shrew.  The twist on this particular production is a gender bender, all women's parts, including Katherine, are played by men, as men, all the men are played by women.  An interesting twist in these days of #metoo. Instead of a father having two daughters, a mother has two sons, the 'shrew' being married off to a strong willed woman who does the 'taming of the shrew'.

Very well produced and thought provoking, though with plenty of light points during this Shakespeare comedy.

We had a wander round the canal basin prior to going into the theatre, this magnolia tree is looking quite impressive.
