An eastern phoebe in the hayfield this morning, hunting. Phoebes are flycatchers. It must be hard to find insects to eat when it's not really insect season yet, but he was definitely swooping down on something out there. Phoebes are here year round, but have only begun singing their song this past week. It's good to hear them again! SPRING!! I chose this photo to blip today out of a very paltry bunch, mostly because I like the blurry/wavy trees in the background.
