Storm Gareth raged as Pete and I attended the funeral of a long-standing member of the Wildlife Group - a softly-spoken Cornish engineer with a passion for steam trains, wildlife and photography - a true gentleman. The service was a wonderful celebration of his life and achievements - a fitting goodbye to J.

And when we arrived home we found that the storm had brought down part of a large conifer at the end of our garden, leaving the remaining part of the tree in an unstable state, so we went round to all the owners of the neighbouring gardens (in three separate streets) to warn them not to go near it until the winds had dropped enough for us to deal with it safely.
