One Millionth Visitor

A breezy day, but the sun has been shining all day long, with blue skies and dry.  Clear skies tonight.

Another day working on the museum desk.  The day started with clearing up from yesterday's events.  An early lunch, and then two school groups from Sound, and I was a Victorian teacher again.  Walkies with Sammy this evening, and popped by Madeline's for a cuppa.  Mam, dad and Elise popped by this evening.  Feet up for the night now.

The new Shetland Museum has been open for almost 12 years now, come June, and I started in April 2007.  On average, we welcome 90,000 visitors a year.  Today saw a new landmark to our visitor numbers, the one millionth visitor walked through the door!  Dr David Malcolm and his grandson Oliver were greeted by me on their arrival, and received a bunch of flowers and a gift token for the shop.  Dr Malcolm is a regular to the museum with all his family, and will continue to be a proud supporter for us.  Hopefully be another busy summer of visitors ahead, and get us on our way to the next million.  Taken at the Shetland Museum, Hay's Dock, Lerwick.
