The Subwharfyen by Braddon Snape (2008)

One more morning run; getting to be a bit of a habit.Similar course as it is so pleasant running beside Darling Harbour. And there is much to see and take photos.

I have seen this on previous trips, and run past it both yesterday and Wednesday. The lights across the water appealed this morning and it has shown up well in the photo.

The sculptor set out the words that formed the basis of his creative process and they are recorded on the plaque near the sculpture. What appeals to me is the reference to old anchors, while being quite unlike a real anchor. The slenderness and the arrow heads (or paddles) lead one into other thoughts.

The second last day of the conference is done, A need to pack as there is more conference tomorrow morning before we go out to the airport for the flight back to Auckland.
